PROJECT 2006 Martin DXK2 Dreadnought (534)

This guitar is being sold as a PROJECT and while it's currently in playable condition, it may need some attention from a luthier before it's ready for everyday use. Most notably, the bridge is slightly beginning to lift; each of the rear corners of the bridge are slightly starting to pull away from the top, and there is a slight gap that runs most of the way across the back of the bridge. The bridge is still holding strong, but this should be repaired sooner rather than later. This guitar has also had a fairly involved repair. The joint between the back and side of the body on the treble side of the guitar has opened up at some point and has been reglued. The repaired seam starts just past the lower bout, and runs down the corner of the guitar nearly to the lower strap button. Most of the seam is closed up tightly, but there is an area on the strap button end of the repair that the seam wasn't clamped fully closed, and while the seam is not fully open here, this may also need some attention. Lastly, the area of the top just behind the bridge is slightly raised, and you can see where the top brace that runs parallel to the bridge is physically placed. The brace is still tightly attached, but this may need a look from a luthier as well.

Otherwise, this guitar is in good condition, but has seem some playing time and shows some wear. The guitar is fairly clean, but has a few scuffs and scratches here and there, and the rosette decal has been rubbed through on each side of the soundhole. The satin finish on the back of the neck has darkened up in various places as well. There is also a bit of tarnishing on the hardware. Otherwise, there are a few light scuffs and marks over the body, but solid condition overall. With a little TLC, this will make an excellent playing and sounding guitar.

Fretwear
This guitar has some moderate wear on the first few frets, but plays great. Frets and fingerboard are dirty and could use a cleanup during the next restring.
