CloseThis guitar is being sold as a PROJECT, and may need some quick work before it's gig ready.
This Stratocaster began it's life as a 2007 Standard Series HSS Stratocaster, but has largely turned into a homebrew concoction of parts and pieces, with the neck being the only original piece remaining of the guitar. The body looks to be a 90's Standard Stratocaster body, judging by the slightly flatter sides, and while it's not guaranteed, looks to be Crimson Red Metallic, which has faded and yellowed up a bit. This could also be the original body that's been refinished, but judging by the haphazardness of some of the other work done to this guitar, the finish seems like it was too nice at some point to be a DIY job. The body is covered in many bumps, dents, and scratches. The back plate screws were probably misplaced at some point, and were replaced with quite large screws, which will leave behind holes that will need to be doweled and redrilled if proper sized screws were to ever be reinstalled. The metal pickguard is certainly not original, but seems to be cut well with no burrs or sharp edges, and was probably polished to a fine mirror finish at one point, but has seen many miles and some aggressive scrubbing, leaving it covered in scratches and scuffs. The bridge seems to be an original Fender bridge from the era, but has a set of graphite saddles installed. The knobs probably came from an effect pedal of some kind. The neck also has some dents and finish wear, and has a vintage style disc string tree and a set of Sperzel locking tuners installed. All of the hardware shows some heavy tarnishing, and there's lots of dust and grime to be cleanup up in the nooks and crannies of the bridge hardware. Overall, this is a cool guitar that could make a great throw-and-go Strat with just a little work. Tremolo arm not included.
Fretwear
The frets are fairly flat, so this guitar has either been played to death, or it wouldn't be outside of the realm of possibility that someone attempted their first fret dressing on this guitar some time ago. There's still a bit of fret height left to do a proper crowning on if desired. Frets and fingerboard could use a quick cleanup during the next restring.
Action
Action is medium and playable, but could use a quality setup.
Electronics
This guitar has a hodge-podge of things happening under the pickguard; the neck pickup is a Lace Sensor, the middle is unlabeled, and the bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan Hot Stack. The pots have all been changed, and the wiring work is pretty ratty and could definitely be neater. The pots and switch are a little dusty, and could go for a cleaning or being upgraded to new components across the board.
